Cheers to a New Year

This year, celebrate New Year’s with a delicious drink recipe using Caffe D’Vita’s Peppermint Cappuccino and Amaretto Cappuccino. This recipe can be served either hot or cold and are designed for individual servings.

Peppermint Cappuccino:

First, pour 1/3 cup (about 3 ounces) of Caffe D’Vita’s Peppermint Cappuccino premium mix into a blender (for the hot version, see below). Add 3 ounces of water and 3 ounces of Peppermint Schnapps (or any peppermint liqueur) and a 16 oz cup-full of ice. Blend everything together and serve it with whipped cream and a fresh mint.

For the hot version, pour 1/3 cup (3 ounces) of Caffe D’Vita’s Peppermint Cappuccino premium mix into a small saucepan. Add the 3 ounces of water, heat everything together, remembering to stir (be careful not to boil it!!) Once everything is heated, add 3 ounces of Peppermint Schnapps (or any peppermint liqueur) before serving it in a warm mug with a peppermint stick.

For an Amaretto version: Same recipe only substitute Amaretto instead of Peppermint Schnaps.

For more servings, simply multiply the ingredients.

Baby It’s Cold Outside! Time for Hot Cocoa

Hot Cocoa is the Perfect Comfort Drink for a Cold Day

There’s nothing better on a cold afternoon (or at any time of any day, for that matter) than a steaming mug of hot cocoa. Now that winter is ramping up, all I want to do is get super cozy and indulge in my favorite comfort beverage, hot cocoa. It’s cold outside. I’m going to stay inside, wrapped in a blanket, drinking this wintertime favorite.

Warm Up From the Inside Out

There is a classic coziness to the fall season. The colder air brings us together, encouraging warmth from within, glowing from your hearts, hearths, and coffee mugs. Caffe D’Vita believes that it is this togetherness, this warmth that truly exemplifies the spirit of the season. Classic flavors and scents like the almond flavor of amaretto and the crispy, fresh aroma of peppermint lie at the core of this warm holiday tradition.

This season, entice your customers with the sweet, savory aroma of our Pumpkin Spice and Irish Cream Cappuccinos. Offer them a warm Amaretto or Peppermint Mocha Cappuccino with a candy cane swizzle. Or, invite your customers in from the cold for a steaming cup of our premium classic Hot Cocoa.

Cantaloupe Smoothie Pack a Powerful Punch

You can easily add satisfying and tasty protein smoothie drinks to any lifestyle. The fresh combination of banana, cantaloupe in this smoothie packs a powerful punch of fiber, potassium, calcium, vitamin C and beta carotene. The cantaloupe is known for its low calorie content and sweet and enticing aroma, cantaloupes are the most popular kind of melons in the US. I have also tried this with half a cantaloupe that was getting a bit mushy. I added 3 bananas (without freezing them) and added some leftover white grape juice instead of the orange juice. It turned out wonderful.

INGREDIENTS:
1 banana
1/4 ripe cantaloupe, seeded and coarsely chopped
1/2 cup nonfat or low-fat yogurt
1 1/2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Tbsp Caffe D’Vita Vanilla Smoothie mix
6 ice cubes

PREPARATION:
Place unpeeled banana in the freezer overnight (or for up to 3 months). Remove banana from the freezer and let it sit until the skin begins to soften, about 2 minutes. Remove the skin with a paring knife. (Don’t worry if a little fiber remains.) Cut the banana into chunks; combine in a blender or food processor with cantaloupe, yogurt, orange juice, and vanilla. Cover and blend until smooth.

After School Smoothies

If you have a hard time getting your kids to nosh on nutritious after-school snacks, take heart in knowing you’re not alone. Somewhere in the back of my kids’ minds they’re convinced that fruit is reserved for breakfast, and veggies are reserved for dinner. No way!

After years of fighting the good fight against processed, quick-grab, after-school snacks, I finally learned that the easiest way to incorporate nutrition into my little busy bodies is through a smoothie they can grab and gulp on the go. The best part is, I can pack these sneaky smoothies full of nutritious goodness without them ever knowing!

Healthy, convenient and portable, smoothies are ideal fuel-on-the-go for an afternoon snack or dessert. Smoothies provide important protein, vitamins and minerals from ingredients like tofu, yogurt and fruit. For an easy breakfast or snack, try making this of Mango Smoothie

INGREDIENTS
1 cup chopped peeled mango
1/2 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt
1/4 cup orange juice1 Tbsp Caffe D’Vita Fruit Cream Smoothie Mango Mix
6 ice cubes

PREPARATION

Place ingredients in the order listed in a blender. Pulse twice to chop mango, stir well, then blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

Make a Smoothie Every Morning

Making a smoothie every morning as part of a daily routine is perhaps the best expenditure of your time and money you can make. We recommend you get a good smoothie blender, and use it every day. Smoothies give you more fiber and nutrients than juice does.

Make a routine out of it. Set apart 10-20 minutes every morning. When you do it like a pro and use fruits and vegetables you’ll get the majority of your daily nutrition all before lunch. Further, the high water and nutrient content will keep you hydrated and provide you with a feeling of well being all day.

The best way to get nutrition is from food, and by consuming a healthful smoothie every day you are getting most of your nutrition in one proven delicious drink. And with Caffe D’Vita Vanilla Base Smoothie mix you can make healthy, inexpensive smoothies.

Consuming Raw Fruits and Vegetables in a smoothie every day will do several things for you:

Save you money and time

Why Are Smoothies So Popular?

Why are smoothies so popular? Smoothies, made from Caffe D’Vita Vanilla Base Smoothie mix and a blend of fruits, vegetables, and sometimes nuts or dairy, are the latest craze to promise the fountain of youth in a glass.

Inspired by Brazilian pureed fruit drinks, they first appeared in the U.S. in the 1930s, coinciding with the invention of blenders. However, smoothies have long been a part of other cuisines, such as Indian and Middle Eastern. In Morocco, cafés serve “panachés,” concoctions that can include milk blended with almonds and bananas.

By the 1960s, smoothies were an established part of macrobiotic vegetarian cuisine. In the 1970s, smoothies made their way to the mall, and the rest is a multi-billion dollar history. At home, anyone with a blender and some Caffe D’Vita Vanilla Base Smoothie mix can make healthy, inexpensive smoothies.

Superfoods” are foods that are rich in phytonutrients. Some are antioxidants, while others contain healthy fats, phytochemicals, or fiber. Blueberries, dark green, leafy vegetables like spinach or kale, and kiwis are among some of the more readily available examples.
In addition to using common ingredients like fruits and vegetables you can also add almond butter and flaxseed. But you don’t need exotic superfoods to make a delicious smoothie.

Bok Choy & Baby Greens Smoothie – The Secret to a Long Health Life

Sip down all the disease-fighting, anti-aging powers of super veggies without even tasting them.

You get it: You should eat more leafy greens. They’re overflowing with vitamins and minerals, benefit every single cell in your body, scare off diseases from even thinking about infecting you, can make you look younger, and are super low-calorie!

But a person can only eat so many salads and sautéed greens and homemade kale chips can be hard to perfect. So do what we do and sneak some leaves into your smoothies.

Really, the secret is to use baby greens, which have all the nutrients of their adult counterparts but with milder textures and flavors. Since they also pulverize exceptionally well, these recipes work with any combination of baby greens, so experiment and have fun. You’ll get a half to one full serving of veggies in each smoothie, without even tasting them!
