According to a Japanese scientific study, fully ripened bananas with dark patches produce a substance called TNF (Tumor Necrosis Factor) which has the ability to combat abnormal cells. Apparently, the more dark patches a banana has, the higher its immunity enhancement quality will be. So, extremely ripe bananas actually possess an anti-cancer quality. I always thought they were too ripe and too sweet to eat. Now I put bananas in a smoothie to help stay healthy! Bananas make brilliant smoothies: just the right mix of sweetness and frostiness.
4 ripe bananas, peeled and chopped
2 tbsp tahini
2 tsp toasted sesame seeds
2 tbsp of Caffe D’Vita Vanilla Base Smoothie mix
½ cup crushed ice
Place the bananas on a tray and freeze for at least 2 hours or until almost solid. Put the bananas in a blender with the tahini, crushed ice, Caffe D’Vita’s Vanilla Base Smoothie and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
