If you have a hard time getting your kids to nosh on nutritious after-school snacks, take heart in knowing you’re not alone. Somewhere in the back of my kids’ minds they’re convinced that fruit is reserved for breakfast, and veggies are reserved for dinner. No way!

Make a Smoothie Every Morning

Making a smoothie every morning as part of a daily routine is perhaps the best expenditure of your time and money you can make. We recommend you get a good smoothie blender, and use it every day. Smoothies give you more fiber and nutrients than juice does.

Make a routine out of it. Set apart 10-20 minutes every morning. When you do it like a pro and use fruits and vegetables you’ll get the majority of your daily nutrition all before lunch. Further, the high water and nutrient content will keep you hydrated and provide you with a feeling of well being all day.

The best way to get nutrition is from food, and by consuming a healthful smoothie every day you are getting most of your nutrition in one proven delicious drink. And with Caffe D’Vita Vanilla Base Smoothie mix you can make healthy, inexpensive smoothies.

Consuming Raw Fruits and Vegetables in a smoothie every day will do several things for you:

Save you money and time

Ensure you are properly hydrated at the beginning of the day

Provide you with the full spectrum of nature’s bioavailable vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants

Why Are Smoothies So Popular?

Why are smoothies so popular? Smoothies, made from Caffe D’Vita Vanilla Base Smoothie mix and a blend of fruits, vegetables, and sometimes nuts or dairy, are the latest craze to promise the fountain of youth in a glass.

Inspired by Brazilian pureed fruit drinks, they first appeared in the U.S. in the 1930s, coinciding with the invention of blenders. However, smoothies have long been a part of other cuisines, such as Indian and Middle Eastern. In Morocco, cafés serve “panachés,” concoctions that can include milk blended with almonds and bananas.

By the 1960s, smoothies were an established part of macrobiotic vegetarian cuisine. In the 1970s, smoothies made their way to the mall, and the rest is a multi-billion dollar history. At home, anyone with a blender and some Caffe D’Vita Vanilla Base Smoothie mix can make healthy, inexpensive smoothies.

Superfoods” are foods that are rich in phytonutrients. Some are antioxidants, while others contain healthy fats, phytochemicals, or fiber. Blueberries, dark green, leafy vegetables like spinach or kale, and kiwis are among some of the more readily available examples.
In addition to using common ingredients like fruits and vegetables you can also add almond butter and flaxseed. But you don’t need exotic superfoods to make a delicious smoothie.

Bok Choy & Baby Greens Smoothie – The Secret to a Long Health Life

Sip down all the disease-fighting, anti-aging powers of super veggies without even tasting them.

You get it: You should eat more leafy greens. They’re overflowing with vitamins and minerals, benefit every single cell in your body, scare off diseases from even thinking about infecting you, can make you look younger, and are super low-calorie!

But a person can only eat so many salads and sautéed greens and homemade kale chips can be hard to perfect. So do what we do and sneak some leaves into your smoothies.

Really, the secret is to use baby greens, which have all the nutrients of their adult counterparts but with milder textures and flavors. Since they also pulverize exceptionally well, these recipes work with any combination of baby greens, so experiment and have fun. You’ll get a half to one full serving of veggies in each smoothie, without even tasting them!

Serves 1

2 cups frozen cubed honeydew

Two Minute Smoothie

Smoothies are one of our favorite treats to whip up. We like it when we can put a smoothie together in two minutes max. That way, we can get a healthy-snack fix without an ounce of stress.

This summer, we are hoping to beat the heat while staying nourished with quick, satisfying recipes just like this. Sound good to you, too?

This delicious smoothie is like the best version of your favorite grapefruit juice made better. The best part is that is takes just a minute or two to make!

This Pretty in Pink Grapefruit Smoothie will leave you feeling fabulous. Grab this frosty grapefruit-infused sip on a sunny afternoon and you’ll find yourself in a zing-y pink paradise. Give this recipe a try.

This smoothie has it all. It has strawberries, grapefruit juice, fiber, antioxidants and fun. It contains loads of vitamin C and potassium, plenty of fresh fruit nutrients. If you love zesty-sweet flavors, you’ll love this sip.

We use a blend of ruby red (pink) and white flesh grapefruit juice for this smoothie. We find white grapefruits are a tad less zesty and refreshingly sweet. You can use a blend or just one variety, either way will be yummy.

And who wouldn’t love to go soaking in the sunshine while sipping on a sweet pink drink?

Kid Tip! For milder taste buds, sub half the grapefruit juice with fresh orange juice.

Pretty in Pink Grapefruit Smoothie
makes 2 servings

1  cup freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice
1/2 cup white grapefruit juice (or more pink)
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup ice
2 bananas (fresh or frozen)
1 Tablespoon Caffe D’Vita Vanilla base mix

Blend. Pour. Garnish with fresh fruit.

Sip. Smile!

Re-Discovered Chai Tea Latte

Last week I met my husband for lunch and I didn’t know what to order, but I did know pretty quickly what I wanted something great to drink. I’m diet soda free (with the exception of the calorie-free sparkling flavored water I get every once in a while). I’ve been trying to find drink that I like that isn’t soda, and one that I’ve re-discovered is Chai Tea Lattes. I’ve fallen in love with Caffe D’Vita Chai Tea Latte mix and have one maybe once or twice a week. Read more
