Re-Discovered Chai Tea Latte
Last week I met my husband for lunch and I didn’t know what to order, but I did know pretty quickly what I wanted something great to drink. I’m diet soda free (with the exception of the calorie-free sparkling flavored water I get every once in a while). I’ve been trying to find drink that I like that isn’t soda, and one that I’ve re-discovered is Chai Tea Lattes. I’ve fallen in love with Caffe D’Vita Chai Tea Latte mix and have one maybe once or twice a week.
In its most basic form, Chai is black tea that is brewed strong with a combination of spices and is diluted with milk and sugar. The spices most often consist of cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, anise seed and ginger. Chai tea is traditionally consumed hot and sweet. The sweetness is needed to bring out the full flavors of the spices. And Caffe D’Vita has taken all the guess work out of the preparation. But, do remember they are terrific in a icy or smoothie form.
